Youth welcomes incumbent government’s steps to revert to ten states

The South Sudan National Youth Union and Youth Organizations’ Coalition welcome incumbent government’s steps to revert the country to the ten states and three administrative areas.
 
They said in a statement CRN got that ‘This is commendable decision by the Presidency to build momentum towards the formation of the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity (R-TGONU)’. 
 
‘We fully support this decision and urge all parties to the Revitalized Agreement to recommit to full implementation of the agreement’, they stressed.
 
The youth said they are encouraged by the recent signing of the ceasefire-monitoring framework by the government and non-signatories to the peace agreement. 
 
‘We call on all parties to respect and adhere to the provisions of this framework to ensure total silence of the guns across the country’, they urged. 
 
They also call upon the parties to the agreement to expeditiously complete the unification, training and deployment of the Necessary Unified Forces as agreed by the Joint Defense Board. 
 
The young people also call upon the president to fulfill his pledge made to the African Union Youth Envoy in 2019 to nominate at least 20 percent youth of the nominees to the Transitional National Assembly. 
 
‘We, the youth of South Sudan are stakeholders in the peace process. We urge the political leaders to never return us to war. We aspire to never be used in future armed confrontations for political reasons’, they said.
