The council of ministers endorses president’s decision on reverting the ten states and three administrative areas of Abyei, Ruweng and Pibor.
Speaking to the press, government spokesperson Michael Makuei Lueth says the cabinet affairs passed the decision.
He adds it will be amended in the constitution of South Sudan by the ministry of Justice.
The amendment will be for the establishment of the revitalized government of national unity scheduled for February, 22nd.
During the extra ordinary meeting of the council of ministers, different agendas were discussed including the locust invasion, repair of Juba Bridge and balance of the bridge tools that need to be cleared.
The issue of number of states and their boundaries was a contentious matter between the two principals in the revitalized accord that made the leaders missed previous deadline.
The International Community, the U.S government in particular is pressurizing the government on the importance of the peace implementation and formation of the R-TGoNU which forces sanctioned on some officials in the national government.
The SPLM/A-IO leader Dr Riek Machar and President Salva Kiir are expected to meet to in order to discuss some of the issues before the formation of the R-TGoNU.
