Torit Catholic Bishop Stephen Ameyu Martin Mulla is urging priests, sisters and brothers in the diocese to protect assets of the Church.

According to radio Emmanuel, he explains ‘The assets belong to the Church, diocese, parish, and also to the community’.

The catholic leader urges the priests and religious leaders serving the diocese to commit themselves to save guard Church assets and liabilities.

Bishop Ameyu further states he has appointed personnel in curia offices with an exception of the office of the Pastoral coordinator and Educational Secretary.

He discloses elimination of office of the Secretary General and introduction of the office of the chancellor and Project Manager in the office of the Bishop.

The Catholic Prelate encourages priests to work together and embrace attitudes of interdependence, dependence and independence.

He also pledges to authorize payment of Catechists’ incentives saying the money will be made available as soon as list of catechists in the diocese is updated.

Bishop Ameyu also emphasizes on the need for Pastoral expansion by examining and elevating some chapels into Eucharistic centres and quasi parishes.

The Bishop was addressing audience during the closure of Annual Diocesan General Meeting over the weekend in Torit.
