SPLM-IO and National Democratic Movement have rejected creation of Ruweng and Abyei Administrative Areas
 
Chairperson of National Democratic Movement Dr Lam Akol Ajawin in a statement described the inclusion of Ruweng Administrative Area as ‘unfortunate’.
 
He said the issue needs to be ironed out quickly so that the parties leave out the matter of states.
 
Dr Akol called for speedy move to restructuring of the Councils of States and see that unified forces are trained and deployed.
 
He said they need to move to prepare the Constitutional Amendment Bill for adoption of the legislature.
 
The chairperson of the National Democratic Movement stressed on the need for the national legislature to adopt the Security related bills.
 
He appreciated all friends of south Sudan for helping parties moved forward to realize peace in the country.
 
SPLM-IO head Dr Riek Machar Teny argued that Ruweng divides Unity State into two which is already being contested by the people on the ground.
 
He added that Abyei was part of Warrap and making it an administrative area also divides Warrap State into two.
