Yamora in partnership with KONRAD Adenauer national NGOs are conducting two-day peace building training to different groups of people in Yei River State.
The workshop targets representatives from thirteen counties of the state, Boda-boda riders, religious leaders, elders, chiefs, women associations’ leaders and many others, Radio Easter reported.
Speaking during the opening of the training Information Minister Mawa A Moses congratulated the participants for committing to building peace in the state.
He believes that peace building and conflict resolutions go together and that the relative peace should be built in order to develop into lasting tranquility.
Yei River state in putting more efforts to ensure it becomes the most peaceful state in the country the minister warns the youths, the minister vowed.
He added that everything needs to be natured and built the peace because it is the responsibility of the citizens especially the young men and women.
Moses believes that the young people have a lot of things to do and should use the remaining time God has given very well.
The two-day workshop is to create a platform for participants to freely air out their views and engage them in the solutions search, enlighten them on the common causes of conflicts in the societies and the possible resolution strategies they need in their families and communities
The other objectives include creating a platform where south Sudanese can reflect about peace, share experience and learn from each other about peace building campaigns.
The training which started on Monday is expected to end on Tuesday in Yei River State.
