An armed robber who attacked a house shot dead SSPDF soldier by name Machuot Anan in Tonj on Tuesday midnight, said Nhial Nhial Machol, State Police Commissioner.
He explained to Don Bosco Radio that the unknown armed robbers attacked one of the military houses in Madol B residential area.
The commissioner explained that the late soldier tried to approach the night patrol, but was shot before reaching to the main road.
Nhial added that the unknown gunmen exchanged fire with the night patrols and they ran after killing one person.
The police commissioner explained the deceased was found not prepared with his equipment because their weapons were taken to the store.
He appealed to other organized forces to cooperate with police service to tie up security for the safety of civilians in the town.
Since the beginning of the year the security situation in the town have not been normal, a lot of night robberies, rape cases and cattle raiding in and across the state.
The police commissioner spoke on Wednesday to Don Bosco Radio in his office in Tonj.
