The priest in the Catholic Diocese of Torit is calling on Christians to stop revenge and embrace forgiveness in their daily life.
Speaking to the congregation, parish priest at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Father Anthony Odoemelam urged Christians to fight evil and resist all temptations.
He preached that ‘the only way to fight enmity is by being good’.
‘We don’t fight easily with easy, we never want an eye for an eye, what Jesus has taught for an eye for an eye is that you fight evil for goodness, when you fight evil with goodness you paralyzed life with your enemy you become paralyzing or you come back to God, and for the devil at least is the second body who bring this division always scatter our goods, how can we bring this cases to off, we can only achieve this when our goodness for our shadow be easy that is in our knees’, the priest clarified.
Father Anthony advised Christians to conquer evils so as to attain spiritual fruits of Christianity
According to him, accepting Satan destroys the man’s relationship with God.
‘I said we should not allow Satan to go in to our knees as people of God; we should not give them the space because when you give Satan the space it will destroy the word of God among us, it will mainly work for God to be useless, but when we are committed Christians, we shall conquer evil, and all of us are sons and daughters of God and we shall get fruits that be fit our potent as Christians. You know that as Christians we are challenged by spiritual there is nothing apart from demon whether the spiritual, challenges you had to live a good Christian life’, he pointed out.
The parish priest made his homily on Sunday at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.
