Citizens worry that presence of guns in civilians’ hands promotes crimes

Torit citizens on Friday expressed their views that the presence of guns in the hands of civilians promotes criminal activities in the state.
 
Didi Muwagar, a resident of Hai Longute, called on people on uniform to keep guns in their units to allow citizens live without fear
 
He called for massive disarmament in all villages and parts of the country to allow citizens to live in peace.
 
‘I want the new government to bring people together they should also see at those living in the bush and the person living in the bush should be gathered like our relatives who are killing each other look at the guns they are having outside should be brought to the government, the guns should not be given to the civilians in the village’, Muwagar elaborated.
 
He added that ‘we want all guns to be taken out from them to be brought inside here in the hands of the government we need peace only we need to develop this South Sudan we are one father and one mother’.
 
Meanwhile Viola Joseph, a resident at Hai Longute, appealed to South Sudanese to forgive one another and embrace peace and reconciliation.
 
He encouraged the local population to work as brothers and sisters of one country, South Sudan.
 
‘Let as stay together, we need one hand, we need good stay, we should live all problems, we need all things to be the same. This new government we need it to be like that of the past, people should join together, let all those who came from the bush come to join hands together and let us stay together as brothers and sisters. We should go back to the ten states of before, we do not want additions when is added it will take us back’, she begged.
