President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s statement on the revitalized transitional government is positive but should be more practical than theoretical, according political analyst.
Dr James Okuk told CRN on Sunday that there is need for peace to be placed as top priority during the formation of transitional government in the country.
‘He is the top leader in the country and we hope that he will also develop the necessary political will that will lead to speedy formation of that government in February if things move well’, he stressed.
Dr Okuk said there is doubt if the revitalized government could be formed because the pre-conditions required by the accord for the new regime are not yet in place.
Some people in South Sudan did not accept the revitalized agreement including some signatories, said President Kiir during the signing ceremony of Sudan Framework Accord.
‘We will continue talking to them, we will not rush back to war, I will not benefit from conflict, people who rush to war they know how to benefit because they don’t last in it’, Kiir adds.
The president explained that if the transitional government is formed in February, there will be no problems because Sudan opened all roads to ease people’s lives.
The Revitalised government to be formed on February 22nd as stipulated during the tripartite meeting in Uganda of the 100-day extension.
The signatories rejected the proposal of the South African Special Envoy to South Sudan on proposing 90-day to resolve the number of states and boundaries during the formation of the formation of the government.
