Torit teams travel to Juba to compete in national unity day tournament

Torit State joined Football teams and athletes have travelled to Juba to participate in the national unity day tournament.
 
This year’s tournament being organized by JICA, is expected to kick off on the twenty-fifth January this year.
 
Speaking to Radio Emmanuel Torit State Minister of Information, Culture, Youth and Sport Margret Idwa Okuye said two football and athletic teams are set to represent Torit in the national unity day tournament.
 
She urged players and runners exercise their talents and have hope for trophy.
 
‘Today we have two teams football and athletic. As you know this is an annual tournament that is held every year and this tournament that is organized by JICA and the national ministry of culture youth and sport both come together so as to gather all the players from across the state so that they come and exercise their talent and basically this is the fifth national unity day tournament that is going to kick off in juba on the twenty fifth  and as per now I believe you have seen the players there ready especially the football players that will be transported by land’, Idwa said.
 
While the Torit State football Coach Sabri Gamaradin expressed his team readiness to compete for the tournament.
 
He is hopeful that Torit team will work hard to bring the trophy this time home.
 
‘We are going because in representation of JICA since the players in their preparation we hope by God’s will, it is us to do a lot of wonders to keep it in place football always has three opportunities either you draw, win or lose but for us we have hope even to win this matches until we reach to the final like the one of last year. I think the two years we reached to the final, but this year we have hope  even may be we shall take this trophy of this year for me also we are not fearing any team we are going to face there in the tournament’, he noted.
 
Johnny Charles, one of the players, who was also selected for the tournament, said they are going with hope of lifting the trophy.
 
He added that it is not their first time to participate in the league.
 
‘It is not the first time I am participating in this JICA competition I am now having four years I am hoping for a win, I must win with atrophy and their football is not by fighting or for any thing this is football for peace. We are going to play with peace and their you will get friends you will share with them everything you stay this is the reason of the league and their not only one state there are all the states of south Sudan going to participate as I am going I must expect the trophy’, Charles explained.
 
The speakers were talking to Radio Emmanuel on Thursday before their journey to Juba.
