The minister of Education in Yei River State Peter Butili Farajallah on Wednesday cautioned that girl child education is going to be taken very seriously.
He explained that if parents are got bringing their girls out from school and take them for marriage, it is punishable by imprisonment, Radio Easter reported.
Peter assures the citizens that the ministry is working hard to see zero dropout of girls from school.
Butili disclosed forming a committee formed comprising of education stakeholders to monitor and register girls from p4 to p8 and senior one to four in the beginning of the term to be verified at the end of each term to review the list of the girls.
He explained that during the review if it is found that one or more girls are missing, the head teacher will be answerable if not reported to the ministry.
The minister stressed that the committee will approach parents if a girl is impregnated or married illegally or unlawful.
