Two women have been admitted in the hospital with serious wounds after the fight broke out between two different families on Wednesday in Akuac, confirmed Captain Elijah Mabor Western Lake Police spokesperson in Rumbek.
He told Good News Radio that the fighting occurred as a result of girl elopement.
Captain Mabor said it was the time to see women fighting over a girl issue, warning them against repeating such incidents.
The spokesperson advises citizens to follow legal procedures by opening cases in the police stations.
The officer was speaking to Good News Radio on Thursday in Rumbek.
