Greater Himodonge Payam organizes peace tournament

Greater Himodonge Payam development committee in Torit County is organizing three days football peace tournament in preparation for the launch of Irenge Bridge scheduled to take place on Saturday.
 
According to Radio Emmanuel, the teams competing include Homeboys FC, Iwaling, Red Star, Express and Better FC drawn from Himodonge and neighbouring Payam.
 
Chairperson of Organizing Committee Sunlight Agalata says the tournament aims at bringing youth together to share love and unity among themselves.
 
He adds the winning team will be awarded trophy during the launch of the Bridge.
 
‘One of the values that I am seeing, this football is bringing is that unifying the people of Himodonge Payam and both the greater Himodonge that is between Iwali Payam and Himodonge Payam and all this players come from within Himodonge Payam playing in their field in Pragwaca which create sign of unity and love and cooperation from Himodonge and various within Himodonge not only in Himodonge but the newly create Payam Iwali’, the orgnaizer explained.
 
President of Torit Local Football Association Juma Joe Adriano appreciate the people of Himodonge for supporting sport activities in the area.
 
He mentions peace and unity can only be attained when youth are actively involved in sports activities.
 
‘To create harmony unity among themselves, you know if football like young people who are playing there if they can bring peace it means they can take that the same peace to their own families at home tomorrow. If they meet anywhere they will be together. Peace starts from one person and spread to others’, Joe emphasized.
 
He adds ‘like in their league it is not specifically for people of Himodonge, they invited their friends from other Payams to join them this will create peace among themselves’.
