Japan spends four million US dollars on security arrangement in South Sudan

The government of Japan has spent four million US dollars on supporting the security arrangements or cantonment of forces to different sites in South Sudan.
 
The support in kind that consists of tents, water containers and other items arrived at Juba International Airport on Tuesday.
 
Japanese ambassador to South Sudan, Seiji Okada says they support the security arrangements in order to bring permanent peace in the country by February when the unity government is formed.
 
Ambassador Okada highlights that his government’s support had three phases and they also funded digging of boreholes in fifteen cantonment sites.
 
National Pre-Transitional Committee member, Gabriel Changson Chang says with the Japanese support they are confident that the requirement for the security arrangement will be met.
 
He adds the donation will be transported to the training centres in the coming week.
 
The Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission Security Advisor, Robert Leitch says within the remaining fifty days there is still a lot that needs to be done.
 
He adds without the Japanese contributions of things like tents, water containers and so on it would be very hard.
 
The officials spoke during the arrival of the container with Japan’s contribution to assist the forces that will be trained for the national army on Tuesday at Juba International Airport.
