Parish Priest of Mother of Mercy in Dem Zubeir Fr Germano Bernardo of the Catholic Diocese of Wau confirmed that people there celebrated Christmas and New Year Eve peacefully.
He said people of Deim Zubeir centres of the Parish managed to conduct their mass successfully with the marriage blessing during the feast of holy family, Voice of Hope Radio reported.
Fr Bernardo mentioned that the Christmas and New Year celebrations were better this year because there was freedom of movement that encouraged people to return to their homes.
The priest pointed out that the parish also celebrated the feast of St Stephen the in Sopo Chapel where 31 children were baptized.
He confirmed that Christian faith is growing rapidly in the area due to improvement of security situation and coming of peace.
