The acting parish priest of St. Mary Help of Christian diocese of Wau confirms that thieves broke into his house and stole money and other personal effects on New Year’s Eve.

Fr. Ireneo Dominic Ujuma says the thief broke into the house when he went to celebrate mass at Jebel Khier church.

Fr. Ireneo points out priests are merciful people who do not wish bad things to others.

‘There is no need to steal money or anything from the house of priests’ or the church’, the priest notes.

He stresses that it’s a collective role to fight criminal activities in the community.

The catholic prelate spoke to Voice Hope Radio on Friday at the parish office in Wau.
