The Secretary General in the Catholic Diocese of Yei says the Church honour Mary as the mother of Jesus.
Radio Easter quotes Fr Emmanuel Lodongo Sebit during his sermon telling believers to give special consideration to Mary as the mother of God.
He mentions that annually on the first day of January the church also celebrates world day of peace.
Father Lodongo adds peace is a journey of hope that is got through dialogue, reconciliation and harmony with one another.
The Secretary General urges people to be concerned about ecology and avoid destroying the physical features like Forests, Mountains and rivers.
The priest prays for blessings, love and care of God to human kind to regain acknowledge of appreciating his grace.
He encourages faithful to seek God’s mercy as they continue celebrating the day of peace in the world.
The Catholic prelate was giving homily on Wednesday at Christ the King Cathedral in Yei.
