State government and religious leaders in Yei organized seven days prayers for peace in South Sudan.
 
Radio Easter reports that Catholic bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe explains the purpose of organizing the prayer for peace to reign is the upcoming government of National Unity on February 12th 2020 after the 100 days extension.
 
Bishop Lodu says it is the duty of religious leaders to pray for anyone who wants to be prayed for.
 
He adds the government of Yei River State is asking the church to organize prayers for successful formation of the new government.
 
The Catholic prelate assures government that the church is ready and open to carry out its duty.
 
Bishop Lodu calls on Christians and Muslims to be generous to join hands in prayers for the nation.
 
The seven days prayers that started on Sunday will end on Saturday December 21st 2019 at the Yei freedom square.
