Metropolitan archdiocese of Juba receives new Archbishop

The archdiocese of Juba receives new archbishop to lead the Catholic archdiocese. 
 
The announcement was made in a letter where Archbishop Hubert Matthew Maria Van Megen informed the general public that Pope Francis has accepted the request for the end of pastoral governance of his grace Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro as a metropolitan archbishop of Juba.
 
As a consequence his holiness has appointed Bishop Stephen Ameyu Martin of Torit as the new archbishop of Juba.
 
Bishop Ameyu was ordained as a deacon on October 21st 1990 and a priest on April 21 1991 in Khartoum
 
His lordship Ameyu was appointed as bishop of Torit on January 3rd 2019 and his consecration was in March 2019.
 
On December 12, he has been appointed by Pope Francis as the new archbishop of Juba archdiocese.
 
Both archbishop Paolino and Bishop Stephen will choose the day for the new archbishop to take possession and governance of the archdiocese two months from the date of the announcement.
