Lack of basic services has forced at least 83,572 refugees from the neighbouring countries back to South Sudan, South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission or SSRRC confirms.

SSRC Head John Odongi confirms to Radio Emmanuel that cut of food ratio and poor education system at the camps has forced many families to return home.

He says the greatest number of returnees is registered in Magwi County of Torit State.

He says lack of logistical support remains a major challenge to some refugees in Uganda and Kenya to come back home.

‘Well, most of the people who came from the refugee camp they are getting integrated to their own communities as we know very well that this crisis in South Sudan makes some families break into two. Part of the family remains in South Sudan and part of the family in the refugee camps mostly women and children are in the camps and behind here men are still holding the families, well one of the major challenges they are facing are no money and they struggle on their own, the most challenging is logistical issue’

Odongi says his organization does not provide food assistance to voluntary returnees.

Magwi County Commissioner David Ottom Benson calls for support to the returnees.
