The National Ministry of Environment and Forestry in collaboration with the state Forestry Department organized a three days workshop on capacity building to forestry staffs in Wau.
The national forestry director Christo Adriano Leme, says the staffs have not received training for a very long time, Voice of Hope radio reports.
He adds this training is very important to build their capacity.
The director mentions that it’s important to take care of the forest because it contributes to the economy of the country.
Meanwhile state director of forestry, Marcello Kon, discourages misuse of forests by citizens.
He encourages citizens to consult the forestry extension department in the ministry of agriculture before exploring any forest.
The officials spoke to Voice of Hope radio after their workshop in Wau.
