Gok State Minister of Information says at least three suspects have been apprehended on Thursday in connection to the attack on the vehicle carrying government officials to Rumbek.
John Madol Panther says the suspects were taken to Cueibet by the commissioner of Abiriu County, where they will be tried before the court.
Two Director Generals, Alfred Agolder of education and Makuach Anyounic of the Ministry of Health in Western Lakes State and their driver, escaped death narrowly in Gok State, when unknown armed men attacked them on Wednesday.
The government officials were on their official visit to Cueibet, when a Toyota pickup fell in an ambush near Abiriu County on Cueibet-Rumbek road in the evening.
Minister Madol warns that his government will not tolerate any criminal activity.
He explains that the roads benefit the whole country and that all travellers should be safe.
The Minister condemns the incident and that anyone involve in such practices will similarly be arrested and face the law.
Although the front windows of the Toyota pickup got broken by bullets, no one was wounded.
However, on the same road, a motor rider was killed that evening.
