Two Director Generals, Alfred Agolder of education and Makuach Anyounic of the Ministry of Health in Western Lakes State and their driver, escaped death narrowly at Ajook Boma of Gok State when unknown armed men attacked them on the way.
The two government officials were on official visit to Cueibet, when a Toyota pickup belonging to the state ministry of health landed in an ambush near Abiriu County on Cueibet-Rumbek road On Wednesday evening.
Speaking to Good News Radio, Driver William Bol says the incident occurred at 5:00 PM, two kilometres away from Abiriu town.
He explains that unknown gunmen opened fire at the car, breaking glasses, fortunately, none of them was injured.
On the same road, one person whose body is yet to be identified was killed in the same evening.
Bol appeals to Gok State Ministry of Infrastructure and Western Lakes to cooperate and make potholes on the high way, so that drivers can reduce their speed.
Director General of Health Makuach Anyounic confirms the incident but declined to comment.
Gok State Minister of Information was not available for comments.
