Eastern Equatoria State Parliament re-opened today after a combined Christmas and referendum break with the MPs reporting on the campaigns and vote in their counties.

Bernard P. Loky opened the session with a report on Ikwoto County, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Mr. Loky gave details of the campaign, including financial organization and logistical arrangements for the referendum.

He said hunger was alarming in the Greater Lomohidang Payam and required immediate intervention from the government.

Ikwoto was the second county after Torit to hand its preliminary results to the State Referendum authorities.

Ninety nine percent voted for secession.
