Minister reveals plans to extend Water services to Counties

Torit State Minister of Physical Infrastructure reveals their plan of extend water services to people at grassroots.
 
Radio Emmanuel quotes Tito Langoya Lazarous expressing government’s commitment of conserving environment and water sources to benefits citizens.
 
He calls on partners to lobby for funds to facilitate proper management of water sources in the state.
 
‘The Government of Torit State has already approved integrated water management committees in the Counties; we have Kinete catchment water management committee, which include all of us. So we act as the overseers to see that the vehicles are properly used, you’re already charged with responsibility RUWASA and management board you know where to get money to run your facilities’, the minister explains
 
Tito tasked the water management committee to properly manage the water equipment.
 
‘You have already been made aware on how to collect revenue to run your facilities because water management committee is a body now tasked with the responsibility of using the water and generate money to run the facilities. So I think you will be capable of managing other minor maintenance but if it comes to major maintenance of course you can now knock at the door of your forefather who will represent you to the higher authority,’ he adds
 
The speaker made the remarks during handover ceremony at NIRAS compound in Torit.
