Carpenters in different garages in Rumbek complain about high prices of timbers in the state.
 
Speaking to Good News Radio the carpenters urge the state authorities regulate timber prices.
 
They say price for a piece of timber like two by four metres has increased from 750 South Sudanese pound to 1,200.
 
Chairman of carpenters association, Isaac Panther Mathiang explains that many earn a living from carpentry but the current high costs has limited their profits.
 
Panther says buyers complain about the costs of beds, chairs and tables, due to the high market prices.
 
Timber dealer Chol Maper admits that transportation and labour cost has raised hence the increase in prices of the product.
 
The speakers made the remarks during an exclusive interview with Good News Radio on Wednesday in Rumbek.
