Security forces arrest 7 suspects of night robbery in Torit town

Security organs have on Sunday arrested seven suspects for allegedly robbing civilians’ houses at gunpoint in high Longute residential area in Torit town.
 
Speaking to Radio Emmanuel, Police Spokesperson Lt. Mathew Ochan Jacob says the suspects are currently under police custody.
 
He adds that the incident happened at around 2 AM when unknown group looted a civilian at gunpoint. 
 
Ochan says some of the items looted include computer, radio recorder, phones and others.
 
‘At around 2:am in the night, at least in Longute, it was reported that some of the robbers went to one of the personnel of Radio Emmanuel, Thomas Otwari. According to the reporter luckily when he had seen the people inside, he asked who they are. He was put at gunpoint by one person. The robbers were at least seven people but one person with a gun, something taken from his house laptop, recorder, some money and some bed sheets looted from the house’, says Ochan.
 
He states that the police authorities are currently investigating the suspects to face justice.
 
The Police Spokesperson adds that ‘The case was opened, we managed to arrest ten suspects related to that crime and are under investigation. At the state level, the authority has organized at least patrol team, two parts of the patrol team, the road patrol team and long patrol team but our forces are moving patrolling day and night’
 
Lt Ochan cautions citizens against criminal activities saying anyone arrested will be brought to law.
 
The Police Spokesperson was speaking to Radio Emmanuel in an interview in his office.
