Police Investigator in Tonj confirms that, from September to October, his office has received seven cases of dogs bite, including one child reported dead.
Speaking to Don Bosco Radio, Deng Friday says the six children are undergoing treatment.
The Police Investigator says most of the victims are below ten years and some of them are children who were abandoned by their parents.
The dogs are straying around the market and bite whoever passes near them, he explains.
Youths in the state blame the government for failing to save the lives of children and people from the angry stray dogs in the town.
The youths say as the government is for the people and the people for the government, it should intervene quickly to save people’s lives in the town.
Early this month, citizens raised concerns over loitering dogs in the area, but the government did not respond on the matter.
