UNDP conducts community cohesion dialogue in Rumbek

United Nations Development Program or UNDP and the Institute for Peace, Development and Security Studies at the University of Juba conducted a community cohesion dialogue in Western Lakes State on Thursday.
 
The forum was under the theme: ‘Intergenerational dialogue to consolidate peace in South Sudan’.
 
Asante’s Chader raises concerns that women are always left out in peace talks which is not fair.
 
She stresses that women are good decision makers and they should not be left out.
 
Rumbek County Commissioner Manyiel Riek Manyiel says the state is facing security challenges due to lack of qualified police to provide safety measures.
 
Western Lakes State Deputy governor Manthieng Deng Monydit says the police unit in Rumbek is compromised because there is no pension.
 
The dialogue that attracted 308 people across the state, was attended by high profile government officials, university students and the public.
