South Sudan Council of Churches with Norwegian Church Aid support on Friday concluded five-day training for women and youth on leadership skills in Torit.
The participants from different church denominations were to get skills on how to resolve daily problems and teach others to become leaders in the society.
Speaking to Radio Emmanuel during the closing on Friday, Pastor of Apostolic Church in Torit, Anthony Cypriano called on youth and women to act as example to the community.
‘According to us, what you have got you cannot be quite for it, or the training you that you got you cannot keep quiet for or sleep with it at home like this. You don’t have any benefit, but you need to be train so that you help your community, if you are a leader you need to be exemplary for your community so that you can change problems that is why we cannot stay with what we got. Although you are not a leader, but still you can teach someone so that he or she will become a leader for Torit that can help our community’, he noted..
One of the participants from Pentecostal Church, Margret Dawa, said she gained knowledge on how to resolve problems in the community.
‘We gain something like leadership and good governance it will help in the community when solving problems and also in the church when we have problems. The church and the youth and even the women, if there is any problem you also have to talk as women in the church’, she stated.
Reverend Oryem Solomon, Chairperson of Inter-Council of in Torit State said similar training for church leaders will be held in January next year.
‘The same training on the leadership is on the pipe line for the church they now have all this knowledge as we govern it is easy, your request is in place the process is on pipe line whereby in January we might have the church leaders in the ICC to come together and share this same knowledge’, he disclosed.
Moni Tabitha, who was facilitating the workshop, urged the participants that they should continue rendering similar trainings when there is need.
