Juba is to receive for the first time a 12-megawatt power supply in early February, an official has said.
General Manager for Southern Sudan Electricity Cooperation, Ajuai Chol Magot, told journalists yesterday that four more generators that are being assembled will boost the power supply of Juba to 12 megawatts.
Mr. Chol added that the four generators are not working yet because some parts were damaged during their transportation to the site.
He said an order had been done for new parts and the work is due to be completed and the machines commissioned.
Mr. Chol disclosed that although the power production is being reinforced its supply will remain weak for sometime due to problems with the electric grid.
In August last year the new Juba power house was inaugurated with four generators. Now the power supply will double as soon as the other four start working.
