South Sudan Police Spokesperson says serious crime cases like killing and robbery are reducing because the police are working hard to keep law and order.

Major General Daniel Justin Boulo says the situation is normal and that there are no serious crime cases reported.

He says the citizens are cooperating well with authorities by reporting cases to them.

‘Generally we have not received any serious case reported. Most of the cases are normal. Our forces of course are all over the town. The night patrol is doing very well. What they need in terms of facilitating the work is there, they have food. So the work is going on well that’s why you see the cases are almost disappearing especially the cases of murder, robbery or gunshots. All these, we managed to reduce them’, says the Spokesperson.

Major General Justin says some cases which used to happen were related to drugs abuses.

He adds that Marungi is another new drug which the police is fighting against.

‘Yes some of these cases are related to drugs especially the youth because they usually take some drugs and drink knockout then after drinking it they become very wild then they start to fight themselves. Now with the corporation of the city mayor, we have banned this alcohol and our drugs unit is working very hard to see to it that they are arrested, says Justine.

He discloses that ‘We have arrested many of them especially those which are brought from Nimule road, we used to arrest them. Last arrest was one car, Noah full of this Marungi. This marungi case is now before the court. Marungi is a new drug in South Sudan. [Bangi] Opium is there, but we are fighting it’.

The Police Spokesperson warns that the law ban drugs including opium, marungi and many others.
