Heavy rains destroyed 115 homes and farms in Heiban County of the Nuba Mountains last week.

Heiban commissioner Walid Ibrahim told Voice of Peace Radio that the floods were reported in Hamam, Debi and Mendi following heavy rains at the end of last month and beginning of October.

He mentioned that affected people have no shelters and there is no any humanitarian agency to help in the area.

The commissioner expects low agricultural production since destructions occurred on matured crops.

Ibrahim advised kettle keepers and farmers to cooperate so that animals do not interfere with crops in order to avoided troubles.

He calls on local organizations and community to help the victims of the flooded areas in this crucial time of devastations.
