Misseriya and Ngok Dinka communities have agreed new terms of migratory arrangements and compensate each other for the loss of lives and property in this week’s clashes.

Georg Charpentier, a UN leading official in the Sudan, said the two communities decided in a two-day meeting to compensate each other for grievances related to last year’s migrations.

Mr. Charpetier added that on Monday there is a bigger meeting involving ministers from the Khartoum and Juba governments, UN officials and representatives from both communities to strengthen an overall agreement to keep the roads open for the returnees.

He added that the meeting will also ensure that the Misseriya graze their cattle peacefully in the south.

The two communities agreed to pay 41 cows for every person killed in the clashes and 400 pounds for every cow that was killed or robbed.

The Misseriya can carry with them up to five guns for every group of 1,500 cattle.
