‘Comboni was a man of self-sacrifice to God’, says Monsignor Mathiang

Coordinator of the catholic diocese of Rumbek Monsignor John Mathiang Machol on Thursday describes St Daniel Comboni as a man of self-sacrifice to God and people of Africa in disseminating the gospel.
 
Good News Radio quoted Fr Mathiang telling believers who attended the feast of St Daniel that Bishop Comboni offered his live in proclaiming the word of God to Africans.
 
Monsignor Machol appeals to the pupils and students to imitate the example of Comboni to become great people in Africa.
 
St Daniel Comboni is one of the great missionaries in church’s history who became the first Catholic bishop of central Africa and died on 1881 in Khartoum, Sudan.
