Youth Chaplain of the Catholic Diocese of Torit John Wajaras calls on Christians to have strong faith in God amidst crisis.

He says the current crisis should not drive Christians away from God.

Fr Wajaras urges Christians to resist all sinful acts and treat everybody as one people.

‘There are challenges that come on our journey of faith, but we are told to be people of faith. We have challenges in exercising this faith sometimes the faith becomes weak. What are those things weakening our faith? It is the issue of suffering, the issue of having difficult time in our lives, violent everywhere, people are suffering, the poor are not taken care of, the weak are exploited’, he says.

The Catholic priest says it is only through faith that one can enter the kingdom of God.

‘It is this faith, this believe in God, that our life is depending on. It is because of faith that we have hope. Without hope even we cannot last, without hope our meaning about human life will not be important. It is because of faith that we have hope and by hope, we say better things are coming. Hope comes because of faith and the faith is there because God exists. This is our believe’, Fr Wajaras.

The catholic priest urges the faithful to imitate Prophet Habakkuk who resisted all forms of temptation because of having faith in Christ.
