The priest in the Catholic Diocese of Torit is telling Christians stop being jealous of other people’s riches on earth.
Father Jacob Odwa while preaching to the congregation encourages believers to help and share the earthly riches with the poor.
He explains that all human beings are subject to enjoy all that he gave on earth either poor or rich.
‘Others envy that others should remain poor till end of life, this earthly things we should divide, Saint Ambrose said that if you get something or if you give something to someone may be if you are going, on this earth, if you get any of your clothe, if you get someone without clothe and you get your clothe and give, Saint Ambrose said you have not done something good, he said this earthly things should be divided equally, you give it means you give and give and give, have you done something good. These earthly things, we should divide’, he explains.
Fr Odwa asks Christians to treat one another equally so as to enter the kingdom of God.
Catholic Prelate emphasizes to Christians to be contented with the little they have and remain strong in faith.
‘Those who persevere the poverty they have, those who said it is a gift from heaven that made me poor, it is a will from heaven that am poor, not the poor who are jealous of other people’s wealth, witches in Otuho are the poor, those who are envy of people’s riches some say I wish I was like my sister, it pains someone heart, one may not belief that poverty comes from heaven’, he notes.
Father Jacob Odwa was preaching during the first mass at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Torit on Sunday.
