Paramount Chiefs of Alur and Tonj on Wednesday expressed their gratitude over the tri-state peace conference in Tonj State under the theme: ‘No for communal conflicts”.
Chief Malok Akot Wut of Tonj appreciated the governors of Wau, Gogrial and Tonj for their initiative effort to unite three communities to stay in peace as in the past, Don Bosco Radio reports,
He urges the cattle keepers and farmers to respect the law passed by the government based on Marial-Baai resolution that governance the three states.
‘Peace process is our collective responsibility, not only in the hand of government and UNMISS team’, Akot discloses.
Meanwhile Paramount chief of Alur County Kon Akot Ngor asked communities of the three states to forget the current issues and reflect back to their ancestors’ relationship.
Tonj, Wau and Gogrial are one people of South Sudan, no need of promoting hatred that will destroy the future of the generation to come, he stressed.
The speakers made the remarks during tri-state peace conference that brought together three state governors in Tonj.
