The DARD organization in partnership with OXFAM international on Thursday facilitated public accountability forum for 40 participants from different institutions to discuss insecurity issue in Western Lakes State.
Insecurity continue to be a major issue in the state with armed civilians laying ambushes on travellers and clashing with SSPDF soldiers deployed for safety reason.
According to DARD Assistant Program Manager, Angelina Adhal Malual, the forum aimed at engaging citizens to report cases of insecurity and promote peaceful co-existence.
‘Our main objectives are; to increase the engagement of citizens on security security to ensure peaceful coexistence among the people of Greater Lakes State, to enable the communities leaders on the issues of insecurity to the government as well as handing the culprits to the authorities concerned, to have a conducive environment, created for improved service delivery and equal distribution of resources among the people of Western Lakes State as to why DARD and OXFAM are doing this to make such a balance on issues that are happening whether things are going on well or they are not moving on well, says Adhal.
The official appeals to the participants to join their hands in order to tackle security matter affecting venerable women and children in the state.
She urges the participants to come out with one resolution from the meeting to put an end to the conflict in Rumbek and other states of South Sudan.
The speaker made the remarks during public accountability forum at Civic Engagement Centre in Rumbek on Thursday.
