Torit health official calls on citizens to practice good hygiene in the community

Torit Teaching Hospital administrator is calling on citizens to maintain good hygiene practices.
 
Speaking to Radio Emmanuel Andruga Iwaa advises community members to drink clean water to avoid water borne illness.
 
According to Iwaa keeping the surrounding clean helps reduces spread of diseases in the state.
 
‘As the rain is still continuing am advising all the communities around Torit or in other Counties let them take hygiene seriously, use clean water this things will reduce the infections. Clean environment reduces cases of malaria and other diseases,’ he explains.
 
The health official explains that cases of malaria infection are on rise due to lack of cleanliness in the communities. 
 
He calls on health partners to create more awareness to the local communities to improve sanitation.
 
‘We are trying very hard to minimize the cases of Malaria infections in the community by raising awareness. Our health workers are working very hard trying to clean to keep up the areas and this is the same thing which we would like to teach our communities. Use of mosquito nets by the people will help reduce malaria cases,’ the adminstrator adds
 
The official made the remarks on Friday in Torit.
