Christians in Yambio celebrate fifth anniversary of late Bishop Gasi

Thousands of Christians across the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio celebrated the fifth anniversary of late Bishop Joseph Gasi Abangite in Yambio under the theme: ‘Holiness of work’.
 
Parish Priest of Regina Mundi Ezo Jacinto Nangi, said the commemoration of the late Bishop’s life is joy and blessing to Christians and people of South Sudan, Radio Anisa reports.
 
He adds that Bishop Gasi dedicated his life to work for the people of God and for peace in the country.
 
Parish Priest of St. Mary, Louis Nvuekama Tamoata, appreciates Christians in Yambio for their hospitality during the occasion.
 
He adds the faithful should continue with the same spirit even among their communities.
 
Christians came from Rasul and Barwol East of Maridi and others from Tombura State.
 
Two hundred candidates were confirmed, three couples got matrimony and many others received the first Holy Communion.
