Two passengers wounded on Rumbek East road attack, police confirms

At least two passengers were wounded on Sunday evening when a land cruiser felt in an ambush in Eastern Bahr Naam County.
 
Police confirmed to Good News Radio that two passengers have sustained gunshot injuries from unknown gunmen near Thon-Aduel headquarter of Eastern Bahr Naam County.
 
Police spokesperson Captain Elijah Mabor Makuac said the victims were taken to Rumbek State Hospital for treatment.
 
‘It was on 8th at 6:30 PM when the report came to us that the commercial vehicles coming from Juba, fell into an ambush. At that movement, two travelers were injured and they were transported to Rumbek Teaching Hospital for medical treatment’, the Captain explains.
 
The police officer said authorities will follow legal procedures.
 
He adds that ‘The culprits are not yet identified, but the security forces are still pursing them. We in police, we do take the statement of the victim and we proceed to pursue the culprits until the day they are apprehended and be investigated and sent to court. It is the court to decide over them’
 
Last week two women were raped at gunpoint in the same area of Eastern Bahr Naam County.
