South Sudan is expecting Dr Riek Machar Teny few hours from now to arrive in Juba to meet President Salva Kiir Mayardit to resolve outstanding issues.
Presidential Press Secretary Ateny Wek Ateny informs CRN that Dr Machar is coming to have a face-to-face meeting on the implementation of the revitalized agreement.
He hopes his coming will bear good fruits in the peace process.
‘Yes he is coming, yes he is coming today! He is a person who has signed peace and he is coming in the next two hours to discuss about peace’, says the Presidential Press Secretary.
This is Machar’s second time to come to South Sudan since 2016 renewed conflict and the peace agreement.
This comes three days after Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD announced on Friday that Kiir agreed to meet with Machar in Juba.
The Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan signed on September 12, 2018 is an opportunity to build peace and stability in the nation.
