A Priest of Torit Catholic Diocese Fr Anthony Ubeyo Gillo is advising Christians to avoid showing off, but instead be modest to receive God’s blessings.

He encourages everyone through Radio Emmanuel to respect and support each other and be thankful to God for the gift of life.

Fr Ubeyo says no matter how educated, rich, or poor someone is, people need to work together as Christians.

‘He is the minister, he is the commissioner, he is a member of parliament. Here, we are tempted to show our selves who we are? Or what we are? But a wise man says, whatever position, whoever we are, let us not show off. But let us be humble and be ready to whoever has given us the gift that we have and especially to God first. All that we have, the life that we have, whatever we possess, without the hands of God, those things we wouldn’t have them’, Ubeyo stresses.

The Catholic Priest condemns all forms of segregations in communities.

‘When it comes to weekend, people group themselves according to qualifications. Those who have first degree, you drink together, you eat together. Why should we make distinction? In a society this is our community. We need to move together. We need to be with them why should we segregate? Is that the way God created us in order to force distinction among us? No! That’s not the case! But that is the weakness that we have, the pride of humanity’, he emphasizes.
