Yei peace tournament kicks off in Yei

The second peace tournament for 2019 has started on Saturday in Yei town.
 
Speaking during the event, Acting Governor of Yei River State, Yusto Baba Dema, emphasized on peace through sports.
 
He said Yei is known for peace in South Sudan and advised everybody to start it at home.
 
Baba said the players are representing the whole country.
 
‘Yei River State has always been known for peace. The demonstration of peace begins from home, by young once. Today, the players are not only representing Yei River State, but they are representing South Sudan. Our fellow youths, this is where indeed, you demonstrate peace. This is where we give real information to our people that they are yearning for peace and we’re for peace. To coexist together, we have to be always coming together to exercise the real love, the Acting Governor emphasized.
 
Jacob Aligo Lo Lodu mentioned that through football, the youth gave hope and life to the citizens of Yei River state during the difficult moment of conflict in the state in 2016.
 
State Minister of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports, Mawa A Moses, expressed happiness for seeing that some partners are working within their organization’s mandate.
 
The leaders were addressing the gathering during the opening of the peace tournament sponsored by Reconcile International in partnership with Mugwo Development Organization with support from the state government.
