Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO Executive Director Edmond Yakani says they have translated the Revitalized Peace Agreement into three local languages of Acholi, Madi and Otuho.
He says the translated version will ease communication to people at grassroots, Radio Emmanuel reports.
‘One thing I want to mention is that we are able to translate the agreement into three languages mainly spoken here in Torit State that is Acholi, Madi and Lotuko languages. I can say that we shall be using these versions of the translated agreement to communicate easily’, Yakani explains.
He adds that among other translated version includes Toposa, Bari, Shilluk, Dinka, Nuer, Murle and others.
The Executive Director appeals to citizens to embrace dialogue for durable peace to prevail in the Country.
According to Yakani, continuous violence hinders development and risk people’s lives in the state and South Sudan at large.
‘I would like to communicate to the citizens of Torit State, it is high time for us to stop violence, however much we disagree politically, non-violence is the best approach for the growth of society. Let us embrace the culture of dialogue to minimize violence, stop roads attacks and revenge killing, cattle raiding will never help the people. Development will come if there is peace,’ Yakani stresses.
