The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Yei, Erkolano Lodu Tombe is asking people of Yei River and South Sudan to continue praying for lasting peace in the state and the whole country.

He says there is no sound of guns in the town, hoping that there is no secret death going on, Radio Easter reports.

Bishop Lodu says the signed ceasefire should be clearly observed so that the people live in peace.

He calls for freedom from torture and intimidation.

The Bishop made the remarks at Christ the King Cathedral on Sunday in Yei.
