South Sudan Council of Churches trains 40 people on hate speech

South Sudan Council of churches organized a training on hate speech and peace awareness training to 40 participants in Rumbek on Thursday.
 
Bahr El-Ghazal region coordinator in the Council Pastor Bang Akuei Nyuol said the training aimed at creating awareness on speeches that promote hatred to people.
 
He called on church leaders and civil society to understand and address issues related to hate speech in the community.
 
Pastor Akuei urges people of Greater Lakes States and South Sudan to share massages of love and peace and avoid hate language.
 
Rumbek Diocesan Coordinator Monsignor John Mathiang Machol appreciates the training and promises to put the issues of hate speech in prayers for the community to experience peace.
 
The three-day training brought together 40 participants including government officials, civil society organizations and youth and women associations.
