Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa or SIHA in Wau on Monday started five-day training of male mentors in violence against women and girls.
SIHA Coordinator Nathaniel Maral says they are training 30 members to empower them to effectively conduct awareness to communities, Voice of Hope Radio reports.
He adds that the participants are going to form some groups to assist the communities to raise awareness about negative effects of violence against women and girls.
Maral urges the community to protect girls from many forms of harm to and from schools.
He also stresses on protection of women and girls across Wau from violence against them.
The five-day workshop brought together 30 participants from different fields in Wau State.
