Chairperson of Workers Union in Wau Teaching Hospital Peter Tartizio denies allegation of doctors going for strike over lack of salaries.

He says there is no strike, but some volunteering doctors given incentives by CORDAID sometimes back have gone to look for money for their survival.

The organization is no longer paying them that is why they are not coming to the wards assigned to them, he clarifies.

Workers Union Secretary-General Musa Juma says their office only holds accountable health workers who are appointed permanently and paid regularly.

‘The administration of the Hospital is unable to hold any doctor accountable because you cannot ask somebody you are do not paying’, he notes.

The leaders assure citizens of Wau state that there is no any strike in the Hospital.
